Steven Nisenbaum, Ph.D., J.D.
President, Executive Director and Faculty, Family Healthy Choices

Dr. Nisenbaum has over 30 years of experience in clinical treatment and management for child, adolescent and adult mental health services, mediation, expert evaluator and witness, Guardian Ad Litem, and law, working in both the public and private sectors.  He is a psychologist and attorney with extensive additional training in mediation and alternative dispute resolution.   

Dr. Nisenbaum holds a B.A. from Northwestern University, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and a MS and Ph.D. from Clark University. 

He has delivered the Parents Apart Parenting Education curriculum for more than ten years.  Dr. Nisenbaum co-facilitates the Parents Apart Program at all three locations (Boston, Danvers and Newburyport).

Lisa Dorval, MSW
Faculty, Family Healthy Choices


Lisa Dorval has over 20 years of experience in treating disorders of childhood and adolescence, domestic violence, families in transition, and grief counseling, working in both the public and private sectors.  SHe has provided individual and family therapy to children and adults, after hours emergency services, diagnostic evaluations and outreach therapy to high risk multi-problem families and children, drug and alcohol awareness, and case management residential support groups. 

Lisa holds a B.A. from the University of New Hampshire and a M.S.W. from Boston University. 

Lisa has delivered the Parents Apart Parenting Education curriculum for over 5 years.  Lisa co-facilitates the Parents Apart Program at the Newburyport location.

Jan Nisenbaum, MSW
Faculty, Family Healthy Choices


Jan Nisenbaum, MSW, has over 30 years of experience in child welfare and mental health services, working in both the public and private sectors.  She has provided training on case management models, has been involved in developing public policy and quality improvement processes, and has been active in the design, development and evaluation of new program models and local systems of care that involve inter-agency collaboration and use of multiple funding mechanisms. 

Jan holds a B.S. in Child Development and Family Life from Purdue University and an M.S.W. from Boston College. 

Jan has delivered the Parents Apart Parenting Education curriculum for 9 years.  Jan co-facilitates the Parents Apart Program at the Boston location.

Jessica Nisenbaum
Corporate Clerk, Family Healthy Choices


Jessica Nisenbaum is a training and development professional with over 10 years of experience in adult learning theory and practices, learning strategy and management and leadership development.  Most recently she was the Director of Employee Training for a leading developer of healthcare information technology.  She has had extensive experience in designing, creating, implementing, and evaluating a variety of educational workshops and training programs.   

Jessica holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts and is working toward an M.Ed. at Northeastern University. 

Jessica supports the operations and overall management of Family Healthy Choices.

Madelaine Weiss, MSW, MBA
Faculty, Family Healthy Choices


Madelaine Weiss, MSW, MBA has over 30 years of experience in clinical services, organizational consultation and administration; working in hospital, research and clinical laboratory, community and educational settings.  She provides training on work/life balance and family matters, including stress management and quality of life issues specific to the well-being of divorced and transitioning individuals and families.

Robin Zucker, M.Div.
Faculty, Family Healthy Choices

Reverend Robin L. Zucker has over 25 years of experience in ministry and chaplaincy, in life coaching and positive psychology, in hospital medical chaplaincy, education, and in counseling and coaching pre-marital, marital, and divorcing couples and individuals. She has provided training on transitioning to parenthood, teen life issues, marital separation and family dissolution, and grief and hospice counseling. Robin has also developed and led many spiritual journey, self-discovery and renewal programs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Robin holds a B.A. from Chatham College and a Master of Divinity from Harvard University. She was ordained to the Unitarian Universalist ministry in 2000.
